Commonalities
Grid Spacing: 12 km, 117x106x31 domain centered near Phenix City, AL
Forecast Length: 36 hr, hourly output
Machine Setup: 12 CPUs (day) or 16 CPUs (night), each Intel Xeon processors at 2.8GHz+ with 2 GB+ RAM per CPU
Simulation Run Time: About 2.5 hours starting at 0905 and 2105 UTC daily. Pre-processing takes about 5 minutes and each model run takes about 10-15 minutes.
Output: All graphics are created using GrADS 2.0a5 with data from the ARWpost 2.1 WRF post-processor.
WRF Details: Running V3.1.1 of the WRF-ARW code on CentOS 4.7-based Linux machines

All members use the NOAH land/surface model and the Monin-Obukhov surface layer model except for the two QNSE members, which use the QNSE surface layer model instead of the Monin-Obukhov model. Details behind some of the chosen differences in each simulation are provided in the Simulation Goals page of this website.
